TPA REALTY SERVICES' ROLE
Marie Kastens leads a very experienced staff of 11 property managers, assistant managers, tenant coordinators and 12 engineers. Many of the managers and engineers have more than 15 years experience in real estate.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
A graduate of Kennesaw College, Marie began her real estate career in 1986 and spent the first 11 years leasing and managing high-rise, and mid-rise office buildings, as well as retail centers, for The Coers Company and White & Associates, both Atlanta developers, and NAI Brannen Goddard a third-party brokerage and management firm.
In 1996, under Marie's direction, the 1.1 million square foot Century Center suburban office park was awarded the BOMA 'TOBY' Award. As a landlord leasing representative and property manager, Marie represented Travelers, MetLife, Household International, Wells Fargo and other local, national and international real estate investors.
In 1997, Marie moved to Overseas Partners as VP & General Manager overseeing acquisitions, leasing and management of class A high rise office buildings. Under her leadership, the buildings remained 99% leased at the then highest leasing rate in Atlanta. During this period she led the team to sell two prestigious Buckhead buildings totaling 1.3 million square feet to General Motors Pension Fund and CB Investors of California at two of the highest values per square foot in 2000.
In 2001, Marie opened a new Atlanta office for Denholtz Associates. Her oversight included development of the Denholtz brand and growth of the Denholtz Atlanta portfolio from 600,000 square feet to over 2 million square. While with Denholtz, Marie successfully completed the acquisition of a 350,000 square foot of suburban and midtown office buildings. The majority of the portfolio underwent major renovations and substantial leasing to maximize the value of the assets. Under her direction, the leasing and management team achieved 85% to 100% occupancy during a very challenging real estate market.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS / RECOGNITION
Marie was the 2004 BOMA Atlanta President and served on the BOMA board for more than 10 years. In 2003 and 2004, Marie received the NAIOP Million Dollar award. Her memberships include BOMA, NAIOP, CREW and Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors.
